How to play

Memory is a fast card-matching game that tests your recall. Pick a level, then find every pair in as few moves as you can.

  1. 1

    Flip two cards

Each turn you flip two cards. That's one move.

  2. 2

    Remember them

No match? They flip back, so remember where they were.

  3. 3

    Clear the board

Keep going until every pair is found. Turning over new cards is free. Forgetting them costs you.

Levels

  • Level 1 12 cards, 6 pairs
  • Level 2 16 cards, 8 pairs
  • Level 3 24 cards, 12 pairs

Choose your level on the home page. Each level keeps its own personal best.

Points

  • +100 for every match
  • +50 extra for each match in a row: 2 in a row is +150, 3 in a row +200, and so on
  • −25 for every slip, and it resets your streak

A slip is a miss you could have avoided: you'd already seen the match, or you flipped a card you'd already seen. Misses while exploring new cards are free. A flawless game scores 1,350 on Level 1, 2,200 on Level 2 and 4,500 on Level 3.

Stars

  • ★★★ Level 1: no slips. Level 2: up to 1. Level 3: up to 2.
  • ★★☆ Level 1: up to 2 slips. Level 2: up to 3. Level 3: up to 5.
  • ★☆☆ Anything more

Stars reward memory, not luck. A game with zero slips is Flawless. Moves and time break ties on your personal best.

Color squares

Each pair earns a color based on how many times you had flipped its cards by the time you matched it.

  • Matched on first sight
  • 2 flips
  • 3 flips
  • 4 flips
  • 5 flips
  • More than 5 flips
